Over 30 years of international business, management and law firm experience. Currently a partner at Altira Group LLC, a Denver, Colorado-based venture capital firm with over $200 million in capital commitments, specializing in energy technologies - where he has sourced, managed and divested numerous technology company investments, both internationally and domestically. Also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of several companies held in Altira’s portfolio, including Southwest Windpower, Austin Geomodeling, TransZap Inc., EnergyWindow and WhiteStar, as well as the Board of Directors of RC Squared, a geoscience software company, and Cochlear Americas, a provider of implantable hearing prostheses for the profoundly deaf.

Previously in private practice, specializing in technology and intellectual property matters, started his professional legal career in New York City in the 1970s at the renowned Wall Street law firm of Dewey Ballantine and legendary international law firm of Coudert Brothers. Relocating to Colorado in 1981, became Senior Counsel, then Vice President of Legal Affairs and a member of the Board of Directors, of publicly-held Jones Intercable Inc., a significant early player in the development of the cable television industry, while also serving as an officer and/or director of several technology-oriented Jones Intercable subsidiaries. In the 1990s, became a partner in the Intellectual Property Law Group of Rothgerber, Appel, Powers & Johnson (now Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons), a large Denver-based regional law firm.

Earned a Juris Doctor (cum laude) and a Bachelor in Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of Michigan, Dearborn, Michigan.
